I feel strongly on this issue as well, as I have spent a very good deal of my life riding on all of the roads of America, and have seen some ugly situations occur due to "DISTRACTED" drivers, that would most likely have never happened otherwise......

In fact, I would like to see something along the lines of a DUI...Perhaps like the 1st, 2d, or 3rd offense would be more like a DUI with the penalties almost as severe as a drunken/drugged driver....Suspended license, and insurance surcharges for proven unsafe drivers, because driving distracted is most certainly akin to impaired driving, imo...

I think most people would rather drive in bumper to bumper 90 MPH traffic all day long than spend any time at all in the vicinity of anyone engaged in an important call. It seems like it's that obvious when it comes to enforcement if there is a law to enforce.
