Keeneland post wrong order of finish
Wow. Someone going to get fired.
Race 5 Keeneland
Order of finish
- - -
Incorrectly posted
- - -
Paid tickets lucky. I am sitting on the CORRECT exacta, trifecta, and a .20 super.
But more than one person is going to lose their jobs. They have to.

Curt Becker just announced any tickets already cashed based on 3-8-9-10 will be honored, and that the race is currently being "RE-PRICED" by Keeneland's Mutuels Department so that tickets based on the correct order of finish 3-9-8-10 can be paid out once the race is made official.
Stay tuned.

I had the 8 and 9 under, so I expect them to take the money out they paid for the "wrong" ticket, but there is a lot of my winning money floating around and it makes me nervous, I use TwinSpires.

I have no doubt everyone will be made whole who had the correct order of finish (unless you threw your ticket away if you were betting live).

Seems like racing has a "just in time" fragility downstream when it comes to posted results. My NYRAbets account is hosed up at the moment.
Obviously the system should be able to recoup the incorrect payoffs from ADWs, but the quick cashers on track are cackling.
I have only seen the wrong payoff one other time, and that was in the late 1980s at Sportsmen's Park.
Opening day kerfuffle.

The horses are now loading in the gate for R6.
But Keeneland track video still shows R5.
Ugh.
Quick update... Now track video shows R6.

ADW paid out, except wondering, I collected for the "incorrect" tri, but not the correct one. Even if they adjust, the correct tri pays more, so not sure what will occur next...
A racetrack's worst nightmare.

Some bettors who cashed the wrong results get to keep it, others don't.
Real major league Fxxxxxx morons.
Someone better be fired, not just transfered to the race timing department!

I’ve seen it happen several times where the unofficial results posted we’re wrong. It happened this past summer at Kentucky Downs. In that instance if I remember correctly the order of finish was posted incorrectly and the race was made official but then not official. It was all caught before payouts posted. I’m sure it was a glitch in the system and nobody will be fired. Mistakes happen...to wish someone getting fired over it is ignorant.

One thing it isn't, is a "glitch in the system." Somebody screwed up. Maybe more than one somebody.

How many people, exactly, had to have their Head in their fourth point for this to happen???
Curious to see the fallout from this.

Incidents like this almost invariably result from a mistake by the placing judge tasked with sending the numbers from a computer at hand out to the tote board and thus into the system. A mistake that the other placing judges are paid to catch and the stewards should certainly catch.
I harp a lot at my crew to put THREE sets of eyes.on the splash-down and then make sure that at least one of them double checks the order of finish typed into that computer monitor before they are sent into the system.
Given the requisite double and triple checks practiced by an attentive placing crew and the virtual impossibility of human error if universally proper procedures are followed, all three judges traditionally share blame when errors like this occur.

Thank you for that info, Mark.
Just an absolutely abysmal situation at Keeneland today.

Didn't everyone ultimately get paid?
Seems like an embarrassing situation, not an abysmal one.
