I just found a copy on DVD of a great little film: On The Nose starring Robbie Coltrane and Dan Akroyd.
Both work at a medical school in Ireland, Akroyd (an MD anatomy professor) and Coltrane the procurer of anatomical samples. Colatrane also has a bit of a dufus assitant..
They discovered that a anatomical sample of a head, in a jar, derived from a Aboriginal fellow from Australia, has the knack of choosing winners for the play of the day...Coltrane collects donations from all over the school's employees and then gives them to his wacky assistant to bet with a specific bookie (with whom Coltrane has a long and almost bankrupt history of poor wagers).
After days on end of winning bets, with the wagers getting larger, and the crazy assistant becoming more vocal about the windfall, the bookie connections attempt to discover how he does it (with wild consequnces).
To complicate all of this, a representative from the Austalian government discovered the "head," which belonged to a famous Aboriginal figure, and has arrived to claim it back to its homeland.
