Thanks CJ, it looks like the Pirellone showed improvement, speed number-wise in his 3rd & 4th p.o.c. plus his overall speed fig, even if he faded in his last race. At 43 days, I would have discounted Grey Fox's fig, since he's over the limit for this type of play. Why I say Graded races are hard to figure on all the contenders. The 3 also had the Optimo early speed pattern for long shots.

CJ,
Is this due in part to things happening like this?
A horse runs a race at Aqueduct loses by roughly 2 lengths and earns a 70 speed figure. Ships to Laurel and wins big and gets a 63. Ships back to Aqueduct and runs another close race and earns a 72. Looks by running lines form had not changed but the figures were directly linked to the circuit?
A horse runs pace figures in sprints like this
5 f-97
6 f-108
7f-119
Goes back to 5.5 furlongs and runs a 102. Form looks relatively the same but only the distances changed?
Plus back in the day when I tracked times at my home track RD the differences in 1m and 1-70 races was about 4 fifths faster at 4 f and 2 fifths faster at 6f at 1-70 vs 1m races.
To this day when I am handicapping I headache occasionally in certain races over things like this. Just wanted your thoughts CJ.

Those first example would be pretty extreme. There weren't any circuits off by that much. I can't really say much more without seeing the PPs.
As for the pace, that is actually pretty common and almost expected. Our pace figures are based on the distance of the race and made to be compared to final time. If the horse ran the same adjusted time, for example 22 flat, in each race, the pace figure would be higher at 7f than at 6f and 5f even lower. The "adjusted times" setting would probably show the horse was running pretty close to the same early speed each time. Think of it like this, if a horse runs 22 in a 5f sprint it is no big deal. If he does it going a mile and a half it is off the charts quick figure wise. But in both cases he is running the same actual speed.
I could comment further with a specific example.

As you know, I use formulator and tfus.
What is this about? Is tfus now an official friend of drf? Confused.
Id love to have formulator with tfus pace figs built in to my pps automatically. (Instead of manually)
Is that coming?

This is all very new to me, don't know the answers to those kinds of questions yet.
I should say I can answer the "friends" question. We are under the DRF umbrella now. It was the other one I can't answer.

This is awesome news.
My only concern is now players can be even smarter. Those who were loyal to DRF and missed out on TFUS figs, were at a disadvantage. Now, they might be "sharper".
Otherwise, great news.
