Without the zoos would we have the breeding programs that are helpful, that benefit the endangered? I would think not. .... This is one of the reasons I'm curious to hear what Jack Hanna will have to say as he's traveled the world working with so many endangered species. Along with his work as a zoo director.
Reading an article in the Washington Post, it sounds like the screaming that began may have scared the gorilla badly, causing him to become nervous. Its all sad. He was of breeding age.

Child service should take the kid away and fully investigate the incident and the GD zoo should be closed until it proves it is a safe place. If ever.

Hanna didn't disappoint; he knows, well, these animals.
(JMO) If the truth was admitted (or found), it's highly possible, the mother was looking at her cell phone.

Instead of starting a new thread I decided to post it here. A tiger snatches a woman at a safari park in China. The short video actually shows the ease at which a tiger can carry off its prey. The stupid woman got out of her car after an argument with her husband. Unfortunately her mother, who was trying to save her was the one who got killed instead of her. My dad always said the world is full of morons. This is a classic example. Hopefully they did not put down the tiger, it wasn't the tiger's fault humans are idiots.

I saw this on Facebook the other day. Amazing!
The most dangerous animal that walks the earth and she gets out of the car?

One problem ( besides the never ending parade of human foolishness) is that humans have become more urbanized over the past century which has had two effects:we have become separated from animals in the wild and even domesticated, outside of cats and dogs, and thus forget their capabilities and second ,we have a Disney like idealism concerning animals and forget their violent nature needed for their own survival.,

If you're gonna put yourself among lions, tigers, and bears, you're fair game in the eyes of those animals. Unfortunately the animals often get blamed anyway and are often put down.
Anyone know what became of the tiger?
