I know some people mentioned him in this thread, so here is the latest. The FBI has officially given up on finding DB Cooper. I guess that mystery will be forever.

According to his profile, he is a quality manager. I can only hope he is better at managing the quality of his companies products than he is at managing the quality of his posts.

The only criticism I've seen of that study is that the shroud was given a 150 year range while all the control objects were dated specifically. Obviously a single object can't be partially one age and partially another. But given that the oldest possible age is still 1200 years too young, we know what it's not.
3) Never heard of this. Sounds like a good read.
4) They have found decomposed notes from the ransom in the forest. For this and the same reason cited in #1, the likely answer is a sad one for D.B.
5) The Air Force tests its newest aircraft there. What else would it be?

1) The Anglin Brothers relocated to Australia.
2) It's wondrous. The Shroud was in a fire... in 1532. And before that all illumination was by flame.... so carbon contamination would be an issue from day 1.
3) Agree...
4) Could of made it... but broke limb and not able to cart all the cash out.
5) .... it's the Government can't trust em'

Are you alluding to the rumor that he agreed to a suspension for gambling and that it was administered in a way that would allow he and the NBA to save face and not have a negative financial impact on both he and the league? If so, I always thought that to be a plausible story with the notable exception that his retirement coincided with a life changing event (the murder of his father).

I don't really remember Richie...I may have caught the tail-end of his career, so since you mentioned him I looked him up on wikipedia.
Very interesting career, he had. I can certainly see why you or anyone would wonder why he's not in the Hall. He once hit a homerun completely out of Connie Mack Stadium...was also a part of the Philly team that lead the league by 6 1/2 games with 12 to go, and LOST the pennant.
BTW.....I did catch the tail end of his career....but not Ritchie Allen's---Dick Allen's--that's why I didn't know the name at first. He came over and played at Oakland at the end of his days... as Dick Allen.

Yeah, Greg, I often show my hand without even knowing it -- this time by calling Richie Allen Richie and not Dick Allen -- and that is a real sign of ... getting old, very old.
His brother, Hank, also an ex-major league ballplayer, trained horses on the Maryland circuit for years with some modest success and did have a horse good enough to run in the Preakness in the late 80s. I think Wayne Barnett rode the horse and it was the year Sunday Silence beat Easy Goer, 1989?
One last note if anyone is interested.... quick: name me John Velasquez's very first jockey's agent? Yes, correct! It was Richie (or Dick) Allen! You can go to the bank on that too.

At least we solved this age old puzzle
I went out last night to a costume party dressed as a chicken and I met a girl who was dressed as an egg. One thing led to another, and a life long question was answered................
It was the chicken.
