NYRA does it again

This cold weather was communicated a week ago. The races were still written like a possible spring like weather pattern would blow through. They cancel the card late in the game as usual. No arugument for cancelling but NYRA has terrible timing. Thank God for Gulfstream! NYRA needs to consider a 2 month break in winter.

I am confused.

Are you upset because:

1. NYRA allowed the weather to be bad.
2. NYRA scheduled races and then canceled.
3. NYRA scheduled races at all.

What should they have done differently?

GP moved 2 of their turf stakes originally scheduled for Sat to Sun when looking at the weather forecast.

Now, it looks like the weather will be fine on Sat, but last week it looked ominous.

Its good to be proactive. The weather looks great and their Sunday card now looks good too.

If they could only get rid of their 12 race cards and card utmost 8-9 races per day and also get rid of their mega stake cards and spread them over Sat and Sun, one could wager on races more frequently than once a week.

Forewarned is forearmed, GP gets the credit!

Santa Anita did a similar thing to adjust for this week's intense rain.

Cold weather is much more easily predicted then precipitation. The polar vortex was inevitable. Writing races was a bad idea when today was surely getting cancelled. They could have cancelled much earlier. NYRA has the worst exit strategy for cancelling and scratching.

It's frigid out. They cancelled. There is nothing to complain about and nothing that affects the quality of racing now or in the future.

If you're really complaining they should have cancelled even further in advance, you need something more to complain about. Wait for the Super Bowl this weekend, I'm sure there will be a bad call to bitch about.

If it is so easy to predict cold weather it is easy for a player to predict this cancellation days in advance and make other plans. I did.

They drew for today's card on Saturday. Stop with your nonsense.

Which is more difficult, predicting weather or predicting the winner of a horse race? I defy anybody to get either right consistently.

So if NYRA is so bad about all of this, why are you playing?
GP

No snow, no cold......

I know winter racing sucks.
I rarely look at NYRA in the winter.
If I do, it is the morning of the races.
That way, the pain only lasts while FG PPs are downloading.

He's not playing at all. He's trolling...and not even particularly well.
