Using your quote from another topic, it's become clear to me that extreme partisanship isn't a good thing and never will be, just like any other type of extremism.
There are many consequences, of course. One would be that it seems to demand CONFORMITY.
The other is that it keeps some from keeping an eye on what is going on in both platforms, because it's never "all good" and we need to watch 'em like hawks. (Some are too lazy to do that though so just pull the party lever?)

I'm not happy that this man was in an accident.
The article stated he's in stable condition (wish we could say the same for you )....lolololol
So....although injured, it appears as though he will recover.
By the way, Hcap's comment was uncalled for

And yet another consequence. Rabid partisanship can encourage, as we've seen, unstable emotional behavior, which is clear in this Allen West topic, and other topics as well, where there are actually people "wishing" tragedy on other individuals, or even on entire groups of other human beings on the planet.
If someone I knew did this, I would suggest a serious spiritual inventory of themselves (and I don't mean that in a strictly religious sense) or a psych eval.
Maybe there is a reason why John Adams said: "There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other."
