Belmont Stakes
One defection (from DRF):
Belmont Park: Dreaming of Julia targets Mother Goose
I would have liked to see her run. I think she has a lot of potential.

The presences of Freedom Child and Palace Malace (blinkers or no blinkers) and even Code West should ensure a legitimate pace.

I will be surprised if both Orb and Oxbow make it to the gate. Nothing concrete except SOP the last several years after a G1 TC win and no chance for the Triple Crown. In fact, I would be more surprised if both made the gate than neither starting.

Mylute out
Tom Amoss says that Mylute will skip the Belmont.
Marty McGee @DRFMcGee 9m
BREAKING NEWS: Trainer T.Amoss just texted: "Mylute will not run in the @BelmontStakes. Will point to a start later in summer." #DRFBelmont

Orb deserves some time off he's had a successful and hard campaign this spring.
I don't want any part of Palace Malice, blinkers off this time, huh?

The fact that Lukas trains Oxbow increases our chances of a rubber match, because Lukas loves these races and doesn't like to skip them. (And it's actually logical for Shug to run Orb if he is in good physical condition coming out of the Preakness.)

Im not sure how logical it is to run Orb here. This horse has nothing much left to prove, at least as far this spring campaign goes. Why not wait for the Travers or the fall?
Also I thought Shug likes to spot them carefully. This race has been the final race for so many good horses and Orb finally comes up short in his last race and now he's got 12f to look forward to.
Not sure I get the logic.

I didn't even know Micromanage made it back to the races. He ran so poorly last time I saw him I thought he was another Pletcher casualty. Does anyone know the date of his late race?

He won an allowance at Monmouth on May 11. I had forgotten about him too... saw him break his maiden at the Spa last summer and then 2 subpar efforts and he was off the radar.

That could free up Napravnik for Code West.

I had Orb in the Derby; Oxbow in the Preakness; and like Will Take Charge in the Belmont. I watched him run at Oaklawn and think the layout of the Belmont track will work in his favor.
