Sam Houston, LOL. You can't even bet their races unless you're on track in Texas.

So Belmont looks to be the next one for a BC location it seems now maybe
Thanks for the input

All things considered including the fact that no triple crown races are run in California I'd make Santa Anita the permanent home of the Breeders' Cup. Del Mar is OK but not as comfortable and not as beautiful as Santa Anita.

Interestingly the BC did NOT confirm this.
The BC's problems in New York are what they always were- bad attendance and bad weather. That's why they stopped going there. We will see if they actually go back. RN it looks like a Churchill-Keeneland-Santa Anita-Del Mar rotation for the moment.

Honestly, that's a pretty good rotation, especially with BEL added back into the mix (assuming this happens). Still wish GP was viable since that's my favorite turf racing, BEL aside, but the 2 SoCal tracks, the 2 top KY tracks and 1 NY track make for good championship locales, imo.

I would like to see that happen but like what CJ said it's too small to host the BC but then again another track into the rotation would be nice that is all I am saying either Belmont or Gulfstream
At least either have the same rotation or switch it up and add a track or just have 1 location where everyone agrees with

Why is important to rotate? We don't complain that the Ky Derby is at CD every year. SA is your best chance at favorable Nov weather.

There was a point in which BC came very close to making SA a permanent site. There were some stories about this that ran in the racing press.
I have no information as to why they backed off, but one data point is a lot of the BC's constituents are in Kentucky, so it is possible they lobbied to not have a single site so that Churchill could continue to host.

What do they cap the attendance at for Delmar? The biggest crowd I was ever in there was when Cigar got his 16 race winning streak snapped. I forgot how many were there, but it was packed.

The last BC at Belmont may have been cold but the Sunday the day after was an absolutely gorgeous autumn day. Belmont is beautiful in the autumn, or at least it was years ago when there were more trees.
We went to the first Del Mar BC, it was great, had an excellent time, but the BCs at Del Mar and Keeneland are too expensive. If I watch it on TV I am always allowed extra money to wager as it is "money we didn't spend if we went."

The Masters is at Augusta every year. The other majors rotate.
I guess that doesn't have anything to do with this, but it's the first thing that I thought.
Keep it moving. If the BC has any tradition left, at least it's that.

I wish they would make it Keeneland every year. It seems like you get more participation from Europe there.

Parking was deplorable at Del Mar Breeder's Cups
BOTH times it took us HOURS to get to our car...Poorly planned

Any truth to the rumor that circulates everytime Belmont hosting the BC is discussed. That it conflicts with the NY marathon?
Hard to believe that the greatest city in the world can't host two events at once.

Breeders' Cup controlling the seating at host tracks is one reason why some tracks are consistently chosen over others. NYRA and CDI not as open to this policy that Santa Anita, Del Mar and Keeneland are.
