That reminds me of a win wager a while back on an entry. One horse looked very strong, and was 4-1. So I made a wager. The other side of the entry looked ok, but really, in my mind, didn't add anything to the bet.

After the race, a friend asked me how I did. My answer:
"Right answer, wrong reason..." :-)

Meaning the other horse, won?

I like to delude myself in these instances after the fact by saying that I actually liked both halves of the entry. A win is a win though, right?

Once at the old DRC I had bet 20 WP on the 6 horse and had a 20.00 per 6-1.
It came 6-1 then there was an objection on the 6. They put the 6 down to 3rd and turns out there was a bridge jumper the 4 in the race that ran out.
The 6 paid 120 to show and I got nothing. I never even looked at the show pool. Who knew 20 to show would of gotten me close to 1200. Its one of those bad beats you never forget. I always watch the show pool now.

Ouch! Lesson learned though at least!
