Are you an NTRA member or do you play in any of their sponsored tournaments?

Qualifying for this tournament goes pretty far back to early last year if I remember correctly. People have been asking for an online option for a long time. The Breeders Cup got it right and the NTRA should have made an adjustment as well.

We're a nation of Karens (or Asaros, for the male version).

Here we go with the personal stuff. At least your consistent.

As a paid member and supporter of the NTRA for a long time I think they get a lot of things right. The change in the tax law was a grand slam for everyone. They got this one wrong though and they had plenty of time to correct it going back to early last year.

The first post in the thread has other well known tournament players who will likely withdraw if no accommodation is made. They have health concerns.

There's nothing selfish about voicing an opinion and asking for changes from an organization you belong to and support.

Many months. I think it was approx. last December or January when the decision was made to push the dates back to August.

Should I repeat my question? Or are you just going to ignore it.

Not ignoring anything I really don't know when other than to say I'd guess it was in the middle of last year. Pretty sure many of us had earned spots prior to that

How about answering my question

I made sure to tie it in to twitter, NTRA, and email blast. I know what you mean and it was by design.

OMG how dare you? Andy, Doc Trezza, myself and many players I know don't feel safe playing this tournament on site for a myriad of reasons and now we're stupid selfish bastards?

For me nothing could be further from the truth. I was/am VERY much looking forward to this contest.

It's GREAT fun trying to be named the best. To interact with fellow horseplayers and to enjoy the entire Vegas experience.

It's not whining. It's responsibility to myself, my wife, my friends and the rest of the world I may come into contact with as an asymptomatic carrier.

These concerns aren't just coming out of our asses. I consulted 2 well respected Dr.'s here in Arkansas. Who also happen to be close friends. They said our concerns are legitimate and real.

One said " I wouldn't roll the dice" One said " Vic Don't Do It"

And this was a couple of days ago when I canceled a DREAM WEEKEND.

Two days boogie boarding in SD, Golf at La Costa (with caddies) and two days playing a huge tournament on Saturday and Sunday at Del Mar.

Tina and I have been planning and looking forward to this trip for months.

I felt lower than Whale Shit when I told her Dr. Roper and Dr. Miller advised against going.

This world, through no fault of any of us is totally ****ED up right now. I'm ****ING sick of it.

But where in the hell do you get off calling caring, accomplished people selfish bastards for trying to make responsible, honorable decisions?

You ought to be ashamed of yourself. It's attitudes like yours that's made this mess 1000 times worse.

TRAGIC!!

Im sure doctors and experts also advised Prince Henry and Columbus to not go on their expeditions.

Funny in a way this mentality is perfect representation of horseplayers who want the no risk horse that goes off at a price with great figures, early speed, class etc.

The tournament officials have the right to set the contest rules...and the worried participants have the right to voice their complaints. And the chips should be allowed to fall where they may.

No.

But a casino is a public accommodation, and if a horseplayer is unable to comply with their mask requirements due to a disability, the ADA should apply, and then it just becomes a matter of what constitutes a "reasonable accommodation".

Just called Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria travel agency. No answer.

Epic post!
