Noble Indy now 100% Repole's

http://www.drf.com/news/noble-indy-r...e-dwyer-stakes

A day late and a penny short but there you have it

Funny comment: Repole said that NI will revert to his front running ways and put to bed any fears of impropriety

Going to be interesting with him and Mendelssohn in that race this weekend, while the draw helps out I think both want to be near the lead.

I think Mendelssohn drowns him and he is lucky to hit the board.

Well at least they put the blinkers back on him. I just thought it was funny how they took the blinkers off for the Belmont and expected more speed from him..

I just looked at this race and I think Mendelssohn drowns this field. He can sit off Noble Indy, who frankly I think is a pretty average horse in terms of top class quality. I am going to bet a straight 6-7 exacta hoping that Firenze Fire gets back to his best which is one turn sprinting. I am against Rugbyman who was beat by a pretty avg TP horse and a head in front of Dark Vader who is not top class.

I can't explain it, but I am very apprehensive about Mendelssohn in this race. I wish they had kept him across the pond, he would have been up against it as he isn't really a very good turf horse, but I just feel that the outcome will be very bad.

This is not based on anything logical, just my gut. I felt the same way about Nyquist in the PA Derby and Orb in the JCGC.

The Dwyer is getting almost no attention. You have to hunt for info about it on Paulick and Bloodhorse. Danacha riding for his pops in the Eclipse is getting more attention. Just weird.

I think there is a LOT of big races this weekend so it gets a little lost. Its the world we live in where there is several weekends in a row that have no stakes or overnight stakes then these days with several in one day. I am not a fan but it makes more money for the track.

Looks to me like Repole got fleeced by Winstar on that sale.

They rode NI to keep Mendy off the rail.
Interference! Where are the stewards?
He sacrificed what little horse he had to keep him wide!

Did you beat his last two 40ish Beyers today?

I feel sorry for the horse, where does he go now? Backing out that badly that quickly, he's either injured or they have screwed him up mentally, or both.

I actually liked what I saw from Mendelssohn. I was particularly relieved to see how calm he was before the race. Doesn't look like he was permanently scared from his Derby experience. He put to rest that he can't run on dirt or run fast early.

His mile was the same time it always is 1:35 and change (3 continents, 3 surfaces).

Could have been worse, if you are going to come in 3rd in a race, might as well come in third in the fastest running of that race. Anywho, I thought it would be worse.

O'Brien has no problem wheeling horses back, he should run him back in the Haskell.

Funny how enough people 5 secs before the race realized that FF was going to freak. Must be that Servis magic...

I think Mendelssohn will do best on a clear lead, and a one turn race is probably not his strong suit, and he ran into a complete juicer.

He will probably always be overbet but if he is overlooked in his next two turn event, and there is not a ton of speed, I could bet him.

Noble Indy, I was not a huge fan of his win in LA so to me he has run below that form but that form was never top class.

Some of these guys are dry as toast and everything is "serious" . Cracking a joke is a foul! Why does this game get a bad rap...…….???? There's never a joke and there's an abundance of "Get off my lawn types". I rant and rave but these people think I'm serious...…..It really is too easy.

I still think this horse was quite good in the spring. He's just another of a very long list of Pletcher 3yos that was cranked up early in the season but tailed off quickly as the Triple Crown series got underway. It appears many of them peak too soon. On the flip side, he's winning important races with 3yos that probably have less talent than some of the later bloomers.
