El Rushbo Predicted This Strategy in 1991

Raising taxes on poor is a 'good thing for those people' – billionaire Michael Bloomberg

https://www.rt.com/business/427548-m...x-poor-people/

Question: Isn't it the poor who buy so many packs or cartons of cancer sticks? Why not impose a draconian tax on tobacco products to protect the poor from themselves?

Another question: Isn't it the poor across this nation who buy truckloads of lottery tickets every week in the hopes of escaping poverty? Why not increase the cost of lottery tickets to help the poor to see the vanity and futility of their ways?

Of all of the elite, arrogant and just infuriating positions. Yes, let's help the poor by having the government take more of their money. We know what's best for you!

Hey, Bloomberg, stop eating that no good buttery popcorn! It's bad for you.

This in a nut shell is what is wrong with progressives. They think they know what's best for everyone and they want to use government to force you to do what they want. This is why we have hordes of bureaucrat busybodies sticking their noses into everything we do.

I would like to tell Bloomberg to go &%*#%^ OFF in person.

You forgot "condescending" -- "these" people or "those" people. Big Government is like Big Daddy -- who knows what's best for others all the time.

Perhaps the Government should do commercials saying, "You're not going to win anything significant. Save your money and start eating better."

We could just not sell tickets to the poor. We'll just have them bring last year's tax form into the places that sell tickets.

Or maybe we should just kill the lottery. No question they snatch money from the horse tracks.

Ridiculous Thread

No surprise, considering the source.

The tobacco industry would completely destroy the health
and well being of this, and any other, nation given half a chance.

Their are so many tangents at work here.
Education (a dirty word among conservatives) is the overriding one.

The Right automatically assumes that children should know not
to smoke or buy lottery tickets from the time they can walk.
According to them, it is up to parents to tutor them on all things worldly.

The government should play no role in informing the public of
the pitfalls of smoking and gambling. God forbid they should ever
seek to fund a program to discourage those habits.

Only the strong survive......

There is a lot more to parenting than deciding not to abort.
You are GD right it is the responsibility of the parents to teach and raise their kids.

You should do a little research on Hitler's involvement in forcing proper nutrition and living upon his people. He is so much a democrat in that respect. Government knows best.

We do not have a fat kids problem, we have a lazy parents problem.

I have more to say, but much popcorn is getting cold.

Perhaps the government should get out the social engineering business. How well did the Obama-Holder Promise Program work out for for the 17 murdered at Stonewall Douglass High?

I assume you load up on the butter for your popcorn? I'm ratting you out to Bloomin' Bloomberg -- for your own good, safety and protection. I trust you will understand.

Heil Bloomberg!
