That sounds a tad high...but that's what it says on CNBC
I'm currently about 25-30 miles away from NYC and I didn't feel anything...

Since I lived in California for 50 years all I was going to say is a 4.7 quake is nothing and usually doesn't damage anything, but of course one that size is rare for the east coast.

The worst quake I remember was being 25 miles from the epicenter of the 5.9 Whittier Ca quake in 1987. There were a couple minor injuries at the place I worked that had a couple dozen employees. All the injuries were from panicking idiots running into each other and other objects. The area I worked in did get showered with breaking fluorescent light bulbs. Myself and the couple guys in my area did the smart thing and hid under a long row of metal work benches that were strong enough you could drop a car on them and they probably would not break. I was just peeking out and watching all the lights dropped down on chains wildly slinging back and forth crashing into crap and breaking.
From what I have seen injuries due to panic in like situations are pretty high.
I was in a hotel at Disney World when a bunch of alarms went off, with a recorded message to evacuate. I was nursing a torn meniscus in my knee and moved slowly with a hinged knee brace on and a cane. I must have had a dozen people run into me almost knocking me over, and they did not say a word.

end of times is coming ... I predict sometime during the next week the sun will disappear ... all because of global warming caused by petroleum use
