I’m not going to Churchill this year but I am wanting a program with any other handicapping info (tip sheets or anything Churchill sells) that they have after the days after finished. I was wondering how much would it cost for a program? Or tip sheets? I tried getting though email but not replied since sepetember. Anyone that has a answer is great. Thanks.

At this point in your life you should be giving all your attention to practicing your own handicapping and worry less about getting someone else's tips.
You need to get good PPs and practice with as many races as you can, with or without betting. TimeformUS would be perfect for you since they give free excellent PPs for 2 races each day, including 2 major BC races this weekend.
After you've done your own handicapping you may want to check the tips of others for additional insights, but your own handicapping MUST take priority.
You should also do your research by reading up on good handicapping books.
There is a thread here devoted to that very subject.


I also HIGHLY recommend an online book on"Bioenergetcs and Race Horse Ratings" by Wilkens. An excellent read on the scientific basis of race horse performance. Here's the link:

Hey, I think Bob had good intentions by making that sort of recommendation. But come on! Reading a book a few days before the Breeders Cup is not going to help you make any money. It’s also not going to help you handicap and play horses coming in from tracks all over the world to participate in what many consider to be the highest Class racing events of the year.

Because of your lack of experience you expressed a surprisingly smart interest in getting information from others who in all likelihood have significantly more expertise in analyzing the BC races. If I were in your position I would also seek their rationale for making their selections. Understanding that type of information will also help you recognize how they established their preferences from a handicapping perspective. You’ll also have an opportunity to agree or disagree with their analysis. If you do this type of review with a number of reputable handicappers you’ll also perhaps get a better picture of how each race might play out.

I was not telling him to read a bunch of books before the Breeder's Cup but was talking about his long term development. My main point is that he must depend on his own handicapping and the only way to do that is to actually do it. It would be disastrous if he just depended on a bunch of tipsters with no common methodology to tie them together. It also be a disaster if he too many BC races at this stage in his career.

However, handicapping them would by a challenging and excellent learning experience. I hope he analysis the results of each race for as long as he took to handicap it for some feedback on what he is accomplishing. Doesn't mean he has to finish several entire books but whatever he can read the better. Wilkens online book is only 20 pages and he could easily finish it before the BC races. If not he can still get good ideas from just the 1st few chapters.

Thinking of the future he should study the laws of Physics since they cover everything and Equine Bioenergetics for a good idea of how a horse performs and all the factors that effect its performance. He that goes to the betting wars without having done the research is to going to war unarmed.

Also beware of the inaccuracies of those peddling race specific methods. The problem is that the sample size is too small, even if you go back to the beginning of the BC. The horses don't know it's the BC. just concentrate on what they've done in the PPs as if it was any other race, just as the horses do.
The laws of Physics do not go away just because there's a big race.

Good luck. Read, practice, analyze, and ask handicapping questions here. Then repeat the dose as needed.

Find someone who is going in person and ask them to get that stuff for you. Send them the $$$ and enough for a beer for their troubles (at CD, I'm guessing a beer is about $50!)

If I were going, I would gladly do that.

You are correct. I just realized that. In any case I also realized that the book is entirely too technical for someone without an advanced background in Math and Physics. I used to teach Physics to college students and even I struggled with some of the formulas. Plus it's still under copyright protection and should not be posted publicly.
