If LIG wasn't in the classic...
Flightline easily could've won by 20 plus lengths
Please remove *not from title thread

And if LIG had gone in the Dirt Mile, it probably would have ruined the Cody story.

I'm glad Life Is Good didn't then because that horse winning made my day and I think a lot of other people's too.

Could say the same about Gunite, a horst that IMO easily wins the Sprint if his trainer doesn't try him at two turns for the first time to keep his horses apart.

Life is Good already won the BC Mile. It would have devalued him to run there again. They could have retired him. They took their shot. I'm sort of surprised that people would now criticize them when it seems that mostly we criticize connections for not taking chances.
Earlier this year, when Knicks Go basically conceded the Pegasus to Life Is Good, they got blasted by many for doing it. Now, when a horse flaunts his talents in the opposite manner, people are also being critical. So which is it?

If anything we may need a thread discussing whether LIG is underrated.
If he didn't run into a freak like Flightline he might have won the Classic. He would have a set a much more comfortable pace. Based on the point at which he tired and how badly he was beaten for 2nd I think he might have held on.
How many horses do we see that have enough pure Grade 1 caliber sprint speed to outrun Jackie's Warrior and also enough stamina to win multiple Grade 1s routing and perhaps even get 10F unless he's trying to outrun a freak?
That's a damn good horse.
I'm not a pedigree guy, but I wouldn't mind owning a few of his babies.

He ran exactly where he should have and the right tactics were used. It didn't work but the connections did the right thing.

I see above "a waste of a great run".
Running in a consolation race, a race as I've said should be on Friday or the undercard, proves nothing. I'm glad the connections ran LIG in the correct spot.
