Explore a "ghost track" if you dare
This 50 year old relic is due for demolition in the near future. If you drive from AZ. to CA. it rises like a phoenix from the desert floor on Rt 10. Hopefully, it's not a harbinger of what racing will ultimately look resemble.

I saw your post and thought "How did I miss that?" as I consider myself quite observant and over the decades drove to Santa Anita from as far away as Las Vegas Nevada. I now see the track was in Arizona just west of Phoenix. The two times I drove past it going to Phoenix were at night. Most of my Cali trips far to the east were made on I-40 not I-10.

You could do a nice day trip & hit the abandoned Black Canyon City Greyhound race track too....
(not sure it's still there? Was when I moved from PHX back in 89)

I see that the Universal "Dicks and Balls" graffiti has not changed through the years!

The sad thing is, that grandstand may be in better condition than some tracks that are still in operation.
