It is just too much of a factor. You really can't cap a Toga race till the morning of, and even then it is sketchy till you get the race changes.
Del Mar? You can feel comfortable handicapping races days in advance.

It's not the handicapping. I won't bet many of the off turf races at Saratoga because the fields get cut down so much its not worth betting most times Not only that you lose the big field races and affects the value in pick 3, 4,5 and 6 races never mind tris and supers.

Yep. When an ALL bet in the P4 is less than $2K, it is tough to play.

I played the meet last year, which I occasionally will do just because I miss the game, and it was a GREAT betting meet.
I lost a little, the skill do erode it seems ( :

Saratoga 8-11 canceled , canceled , canceled
The infield Canoe is being replaced by a real life replica of Noah’s Arc . The weather is streaky here . Some years no rain , some years a lot .
That being said I was already looking at tomorrows card . It’s pretty much better than Del Mar’s entire meet .

I think Denman set a record at Del Mar today for the most wrong attempts at a horse's name in a single running of the race. Winner of their stake today was Bus Buzz, who was called Boss Buzz, Bus Bizz, Biz Buzz & again Boss Buzz before finally getting it right on the 5th attempt by the time they reached mid-stretch. This was an impressive feat.

He's been brutal this year. He should have retired already. He doesn't have it anymore.

It's just such a tough job to do at that age, or any age.
It even happens to play-by-play announcers. Pat Summerall and Keith Jackson come to mind. On the other hand, Al Michaels is in his late 70s and still sounds close to his younger self.

Races 7,9 and 10 are now OFF the turf at Saratoga just as they are loading horses into the gate for race 6. NYRA does not care about its customers one iota.
They are having a TERRIBLE meet.

this way they preserve a lot of take out as I am sure the pool gets much smaller when people amend or cancel their play if proper notice had been given.

Agree 100%. No consistency at Saratoga. Give me Del Mar any day.

Problem with Saratoga is it is too close to Canada, Tapeta and it is dead. The track Superintendent is just a cheep rendition of what a track Superintendent was in Saratoga's better times.

NYRA would never allow the calamity which is occurring right now prior to race 5 at Delmar.
Two horses scratched at gate.
