Ken Rudulph: What a Asshole

That had to be one of the worst "hot takes" possible from an on-air horse racing talent with all that is swirling around with the sport at this time of year when it's in general public view. Easily, and probably rightfully, interpreted as condoning cheating, accepting horse deaths, etc. Which have all made the mainstream news in the past week.

But (i) it's Twitter, for crying out loud, the home of "oops" takes and (ii) he apologized for the hot take.

Not a fan of Rudulph, TVG, their race coverage, their pushing of multi-race wagers into the maw of CRW crews, etc. - but the guy screwed up and realized he screwed up. Apologized. What else is there to do?

Fair enough. He did preface it with:

Horse racing needs to stop pretending and just be what it is.

This sport seems intent on forcing all of us to be "realists". I just wish there were some way to push back against the reality of hidden drugging, etc. Cue John Lennon and "Imagine" . . .

IMO he knew the furor his tweet would cause and if it was still the TVG days he’d have gotten away with it
