Formulator questions
I've been using DRF Formulator for awhile now but certainly not to it's fullest potential, am hoping to improve on that. Was wondering if users could give me some info on the following, particularly the Notes functionality, broken down by these options:
Card Note - If I save a note here, for instance "golden rail," the next time I come across a race from this date in the PPs will I be alerted to this note, or will it only show up if I choose a race chart from this day?
Trip Note - If I save this as a note for the race, pretty much the same question as above? If I save this as a note for just a single horse, what's the difference in saving a trip note vs just a horse note? Also how many trip notes will show up on a horse's PP, like if I made individual notes for 3 bad trips in a row will this always be there in the PPs of this horse, will I be able to delete them down the road?
Horse Note - If I save a horse note will this note come up every time the horse is entered until I delete or update the note?
Pretty much I want formulator to be my memory recall for every horse, race & date for future entries & to alert me to every relevant note, I'm assuming (hoping) that is how this will function, is that right?

It will do exactly what you are describing.
I mostly use “card” notes for biases, but sometimes I add comments about the track maintenance, wind, etc.. This will show up in the PPs for every horse that ran that day next time they’re run.
I use trip notes for race specific trips for a horse. These will show up in the PPs for that horse in the appropriate running line.
I rarely use horse notes, but if you make some general notes about that horse they will show up every time the horse runs at the bottom of the PPs.
It’s a huge benefit to see all those notes right in the PPs.

its the strength of the program.
Will it still let you import notes. I used to work with a couple others on notes so we could divide the work, then would combine our notes and import. This was pre-web version.

It will allow you to import notes, but you have to get the format right and it's a little tricky. I think I have those specs in my notes somewhere because I used to use that feature. Unfortunately, you can't export your notes and give them to someone else to import because the export feature doesn't put them in the right format for import.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to seeing this in action when some of the horses run back

I should clarify one thing. The "new" version is still being enhanced. All the note taking features are in place, but I'm not sure what the plans are for importing and exporting. That feature still works on the old version but not the new version.

BUMP
A question about the Notes feature in Formulator.
If I save a Trip Note for a horse from a previous race will it appear under the running line for that race in the future, or does it appear in a box/dropdown ?
DRF has some really good deals on their products right now and I may make the leap to Formulator.
Thanks

Perfect!
That's exactly what I was hoping it would look like.
Thanks for the screen shot

Anyone having issues with formulator these last few days? It's just been slow to process things, freezing up, several times it's taken scratches from one race & superimposed them on a wrong one. Wondering if there's something up with my computer perhaps or if others have been seeing this too? And in case anyone asks, I tried on both Firefox & Chrome with similar results.

Same exact issues.
I thought it was my computer because I was handicapping on a brand new laptop. I assumed it must be the laptop. I’m actually glad it seems to not be the computer. I’ll report the problem to the appropriate person, but my guess is they already know assuming other people are also having the problem.

I had issues a few days ago as well.
My notes would appear, disappear and reappear over & over again.

Supposedly a fix is going in today or shortly.
