Well you could say Mick Ruis was finally Justified! lol
I'm waiting for them to say he didn't qualify for the Kentucky Derby which in this case he didn't. I think there may be grounds for fraud because they presented him as the winner of the Santa Anita Derby but in actuality he wasn't and didn't have enough points.
I've been waiting for this decision since it was first reported on in 2019.

I know this matters historically and it certainly matters when it comes to purses, but Justify is looking like a kick ass sire, possibly on two surfaces. I don't think any of this is going to impact his stud fee or value.

Five years after Justify wins the Santa Anita Derby, he is finally disqualified from the win for an overage that was not allowed.
Let's see, as I remembered it, when a horse had a positive, that horse was disqualified and the purse money redistributed.
It didn't matter WHAT was in the blood and or urine. If it was not allowed it was NOT allowed. But that was way back in the day and well before we were so insightfully told that the overage was only a few, a dozen or 29 picograms. The quote, if I'm not mistaken was, "Do you know how small that is"?
Let's not even go into the fact that had Justify not won the Santa Anita Derby, he would have not been able to race in the Ky. Derby.
But ah, details, details.
So the biggest winners here are... nobody.
And the biggest losers? Justify who as great a horse as he was and still is simply deserved better. And right behind him , the fans, who are asked to trust and support the racing product that has obvious problems. The game also gets yet another black eye or asterisk. Whichever suits the narrative I suppose.

💯💯💯
And honestly, is the sport any better off with Good Magic and Chad “Choke ‘em Out” Brown as official winners of the 2018 Kentucky Derby?
