I had the surface rated ‘sinky sand’ for last Saturday’s card
I’ve also rated the surface as ‘undertow’ and ‘tar pit’ on other days.

And because of early speed being crippled by the AQU surface, finding some nice plays on the quick-ship to Parx....Just don't play any droppers...

Early speed has been crippled by the Aqueduct surface?
That must be in the alternate universe Aqueduct, not the one I'm at pretty much every day

If the track is playing slow, then would it be better to call it early plodder rather than early speed?

Pretty much also the case with anything besides the winner from Florida Derby. The Wood has had a few superfecta hitters over the past decade.

Yes.
I had no problems with the final time in the Wood.
Bourbonic went 1:54.2.
The super nice Chad Brown Filly Search Results went 1:54 in the Gazelle.
Modernist for Mott went 1:54.1 in the Excelsior.
And FWIW......Bourbonic looks like he'll love the 10th furlong.
I can see Bourbonic being heard from in the Derby.

is the wood going to have 3 horses in the derby?
that's going to be three of the easiest scratch throughs i've ever had.

I'll root for the horse even though it would take a major pace collapse to really put him in the running on the first Saturday of May. I'd love to see Kendrick Carmouche win the Derby; we haven't had a Black jockey win the Derby in over a century and that would be so great for the sport.
