Payoffs lower than odds after race

I posted this on twitter back in April. You can see after the 4th race was official and paid out Twin Spires still had the 1-3 exacta listed as paying $7 for the $1. Yet it only paid $4.80. Was the money so late coming in it was after the last odds update?

as explained in another thread, this is probably just another case of spoof or fake betting. nothing to worry about though, this is supposed to be normal today in our betting pools.

i am starting to understand this explanation. this has something to do with fooling the conditional wagering bettors and the CRW.

Twin Spires never updated the pool or the odds even well after the race. If you went back to that race one hour after it ran Twin Spires still had the pool listed at $7,107 with the $1 exacta paying $7.

I played Belmont for the first time in a year yesterday, the scratches came in early, yet twinspires had the horses as "bettable" even 3-4 hours later, and not scratched out when pulling up each individual race to wager.

Thats something you might want to ask Fairmount.

However it looks like the official payoffs are the Twin Spires numbers, which were higher...

Right. Is there a higher take on track? Some greyhound tracks of eras gone by would show different payouts based upon what state the wager was made from. I.e., Arizona prices and the screen would change colour and display those slightly different prices.

If you suspect something, notify the TRPB.
The TRPB, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Thoroughbred Racing Associations of North America, operates as a national investigative agency in the horse racing industry. The mandate is to expose and investigate all activity prejudicial to horse racing and to maintain public confidence in the sport of Thoroughbred racing.

Sharing on Pace Advantage is fine, but the TRPB should be made aware as well.
