I don’t know what Maggie would have said about the great Nijinsky
when he was losing his hair from an awful bout of ringworm
But he ran and won a huge race !

Perfect Storm for racing
The charming "rags to riches" story runs after Medina Spirits Derby win, and, as Jay Hovdey wrote "casual fans wonder how this can happen."
"Medina Spirit tests positive and the casual fan says "Aha' that's how."
Baffert's horses are then tested at Pimlico and none win.
What does the casual fan think now?
Rhetorical question, of course as apologists have all begun the familiar "canned" response; "He's a little horse and two weeks..blah, blah, blah
Never stopped any of Baffert's other Derby winners.

well most the 20-30 percent barns are taking every little edge they can and when you dont what do you think is going to happen when you compete against them?
How did other home run hitters do compared to Sosa and McGuire.......not that well really.

Optics are terrible.
But the truth is rarely revealed by optics alone.

Article states that his horses cannot run under any of his assistants either.

Then just give them to his buddy Lukas for a few weeks.

You forgot "groom eating a poppyseed bagel near the horse" when he had the morphine positive

The connections new the horse would be clean on those 3 tests. That is why the split hasn't been sent yet, they know it is positive and trying to figure a way to keep it from being released.

This is just my opinion.
The split sample for Medina Spirit will come back positive BUT they will state that it was an oinment and not injected and the INTENT was not to cheat but was given to cure the rash that Medina spirit had so therefore the commission will not DQ Medina Spirit but will fine Baffert and suspend him but that will end before the Breeders Cup even though it is in Bafferts safe haven of California at Del Mar.

If I am wrong and they do DQ Medina Spirit and ban Baffert then that will totally surprise me as the racing commission here seems to have a very weak constitution and backbone.
