A lot of guys that do that are never going to make it in school anyway, that is why there are in the draft.

I have not read anywhere that they hired agents, so they are eligible to return to SoCal.

Ben Simmons = while not deserving comparisons to either player yet, Simmons has elements of Lebron and Blake Griffin in his game.
Thon Maker = #10 Bucks = has some elements of Kevin Garnett and Kevin Durant in his game. The Bucks have quietly built a talented team.

Buddy Hield #6 to New Orleans is interesting.
Kind of a downer going to the Pelicans, until you remember that they have Anthony unibrow Davis. They still need to add more pieces. Hield could be a legit all star if he were used in a Klay Thompson like scheme.

Pretty sure if you make yourself eligible and remain that way you lose college eligibility even if undrafted.

Yep, that is correct.
Under the new rule this year players would have to withdraw from the draft 10 days after the end of the combine & not hire an agent to maintain eligibility.
Jacobs & Jovanovic weren't invited to the NBA combine, surprised the stayed in the draft.
As you mentioned before, probably not great students.

Oh wow, I forgot about the rule change with staying in the draft -- Jovanovic can maybe ply his trade in Europe, not sure about Jacobs though.

Klay Thompson?
Hield is just an epic beard away from James Harden status 200 FT 88% carried OK to the Final Four.

Buddy Hield was a great college player, but he is no James Harden at this point. He isn't nearly as good with the ball as he is off the ball.

They maybe failures in the classroom, but they likely will get more coaching and could improve their game staying at the college level another year or two. Better be game ready when one gets to the NBA.

But you don't get any of that if you are ineligible academically. That is the case with a lot of these draft guys that don't seem to make sense.

some of these guys go pro, because they don't have the discipline to follow the minimal requirements of their student athlete situation.
Some schools are notorious for recruiting and failing to support kids who are high risk, and fall through the cracks
some kids are just not capable
