Am I missing something or?????

Is there seperate track records for males and fillies and mares, older etc, because I keep track for final times via spreadsheet at each track or the best time so far in my analysis. However, I use Equibase for my times and have been going through Gulfstream and the new Tapeta and completely confused. They show about 5 1/2 furlongs on Tapeta..new track record of 1:03 78 on Jan. 5/2022, then two days later, same distance, difference age group of horses, they say new track record 1:04.44

You did not read what he wrote.

The problem he has is that the new record set on January 7th, is slower than the new record set 2 days earlier.

What he wants to know is,
do tracks have different records for different ages and sexes?

I don't know the answer, maybe you or someone else on this forum can give him the info that he needs.

Could it be that one was 5 1/2 and one was about 5 1/2?

On the Equibase chart of the 3rd race at GP on 1/5/22, it shows the track record to be 1:03.78 by Officer Country on 1/5/22, though I don't see a race that would have been from. But below that, it shows a new track record of 1:05.34.

On the chart of race 7 on 1/7/22 it shows a new track record of 1:04.92, which does beat the mark of 1:05.34, though neither beats 1:03.78. It appears that 1:03.78 must have been an error.

Can someone look up the races of Officer Country and see what, if anything, he did on 1/5/22 or when he might have run 5 1/2 on the tapeta in 1:03.78?

Officer Country did indeed run 5 1/2 furlongs on Tapeta on 1/5/22 in 1:03.78

As for your previous post speculating that there is a 5 1/2.furlong distance and an about 5 1/2 furlong distance, no there isn't. All Tapeta distances are listed as "about" simply because they have not yet had the official survey done to verify the accuracy of the distances.

I believe it is simply an error that the 1/7/22 is listed as a track record.

GP is just historically totally incompetent when it comes to timing.

Thanks. I see what part of the problem was. Officer Country ran in race 7, so the time for Race 3, earlier that same day, was the record at the time. It appears Officer Country should still be the track record holder. Seems two records in one day was outside their ability to maintain. lol
