Thanks guys. Was a good day with some help from the racing gods (which I will gladly take). It's funny how this game is. When you are slumping, you seem to get bad trip after bad trip. But when things are going well, you get horses who fall into the trip Unbridled Command got.

Day 11 totals
8 selections
$16 wagered
$57.40 returned

Summer totals
100 selections
$200 wagered
$244 returned

I know dahoss and I have had our differences in the past but, when it comes to selections, I haven't seen many better. And, I have congratulated him in his selections threads. The guy absolutely kills it time after time!
Great job again dahoss....no problem giving credit where it is due!

I think we can all learn something from Dahoss here. He had a rough start to the summer. However, he didn't panic. He didn't start betting all chalk to get winners, or only pick 20-1 shots, or bet every race on the card, or bet tracks he had no feel for, or pick four horses a race (sorry, couldn't resist). He stuck with what he knows worked in the past and eventually things turned around. I won't deny that sometimes you have to change your ways in handicapping, but the lessons are to have confidence in yourself and what has worked for you before, and not to let a bad streak throw you when you know your methods work.

Exactly. Primarily one venue, win-bets on 6+ races every day.

Inf'npossible.

One thing I, personally, am constantly reminded of when I look at Dahoss' picks before the race, is how ridiculous it is to judge a handicapper by a single race or two.

I will often completely disagree with his selection in a race, and, when this selection finishes 9th in a field of 10, I will start wondering how he could have made such a pick...and what the heck he is looking at when he handicaps.

And then the next race comes around, and I hate his selection just as much...but it now wins and it pays $30!

Watching him make his picks reminds me of how wonderfully complex this game is...

Sometimes you can handicap your ass off and not get paid. Today is an example. Exceptional, spot on capping, but one winner and three seconds. Another excellent day IMO, but it won't show up in the bottom line.

DH... great start to the summer... I've been waiting for you to make your selections for a long time.
You are listed on whobet's trks2day.com .... they had you "making" selections on a multitude of tracks including my beloved GG for the longest time....
Except you were"picking" the 1 horse every race... guess it was another one of those rogue algorithms or something.
Glad your back at it for real. Cheers.

You may be on to something here, thaskalos......

I truly believe that TVG, and/or HRTV, would be much more successful if they had solid handicapping talent putting out selections (and their reasoning behind them) on a regular basis. You could take away a bunch of the "fluff" presenters they have who pretend to be handicappers, and give their viewers a chance to win some $$$.

Dahoss would definitely fit the bill.......
