No thread on the hurricane? Even the people who chastised Trump about tweeting about non-hurricane related stuff haven't started a thread?

OK, I'll do it.

This one looks like it is another monster...and it's a slow mover...

We have a bunch of people on this forum living in the path of this one. Hope you all are able to either get to safer ground, or ride it out without too much destruction.

Be smart and safe!

I find it interesting that the National Weather Service projects the most likely course to make a right turn and skirt the coast for hundreds of miles. What media coverage I've watched see this as a relief. I see the potential for a lot more damage staying 10 or so miles offshore and pounding 3/4 of the east coast, than a direct hit into Florida turning north and weakening over land.

I agree.....its a monster and please be safe everyone. At least thats what I have heard. But that was Friday. Any update? Is it pummeling the Florida coast? Thought I heard it missed Puerto Rico. But what do I know.

I'm in NW Marion County, well inland, but everyone's been preparing for a doomsday scenario. Biggest problems here are usually power outages, the obligatory wind damage (hopefully minimal on the outside of the cone), and water damage (lots of water expected!).

As of right now, Trump's maro largo estate, Rush Limbaugh's joint and my humble abode are in the direct path of 180 m.p.h. winds of a very tightly wound and well-formed eye. Should be interesting...

...And you're the only one of the three who is in any real danger. Good luck , may God bless you.

That may well be...but I don't feel as though I am. I'm trusting in the good Lord to get us through this, as He has so many others over the course of many years.

Thank you for your good wishes, I'm feeling blessed already.

I don't think a large enough mansion has been conceived that would accommodate all our egos under one roof.

All of the people condemning millions of plastic straws have no issue with millions of plastic water bottles...

Aside from that, prayers to all in the path. Be safe.

The question is, which is a bigger bag of wind, Rush or Dorian? Having said that, I hope everyone stays safe.

The latest - rather be up here than on the coast, but I don't think FL will get a direct blow. Damage could be extreme, however, and just a few miles could make a big difference.
