eviction moratorium's

they have now extended the rights of a tenant from getting evicted for non payment of rent due to a loss of job or income due to the corona.. i get that part,

for the landlord, they can get relief from the mortgage company by postponing their payments for just the loan that will be added to the back part of the loan and the borrower must pay interest on it. however you cannot deduct the portion of the payment that goes for the real estate taxes and property insurance. on some loans if you do not have insurance coverage you can get foreclosed upon immediately.

i have not seen any moratorium of payments that landlords have to make for water, electricity, gas or anything that propels his heating system. the relief for the company that provides these services is they shut them off until the balance owed is paid.
where is the relief for the landlord? hey not much relief for the small restaurant owner that got hit with limited hours of operations and sometimes shut downs. instead they give money to casino's, cruise ships, airlines, hotels and movie theatres. all things that people really don't need right now.

when this is over, the next step will be to get your social security that you paid into your whole life.. the first thing they are going to do is start means testing and take the whole thing away from you including medicare. the next step is they are going to raise the age a few years before you can collect.. after that one they are going to raise your taxes to "help keep social security solvent".

Because Landlords are evil scum of the earth. Heartless uncaring humans. Just listen to the Cali politicians. No one should have to pay rent, A house, apt, is a human right. Just ask AOC and Kamela.

I used to, will never do it again.

My brother owns 30 houses in Houston, thankfully he bought them all cash.
He rents out his expensive houses "short term" to pro atheletes and business people.
His less expensive houses all go to welfare recipients, his rent is guaranteed.

In NH we have plenty of duplexes on the southern border, just prior to Covid-19 was in the news one sold near me. Prices commanding the best in our location. Anyway the owner raised the rent on the left side and took the right side for themselves. The tenants who have been there for years moved out as soon as Covid-19 and mid-summer. The new owner who I talked with said that they originally intended to live there said that he was not going rent out the empty apartment and have changed their intention and were going to flip the house. The conversation continued that there is a shortage of this type of housing and he thought that there was a 50% chance the new President will tank the housing market that is currently strong. It is interesting how others are dealing with property and and tenants today.

I have a few units.

Adding one or two a year. Also pay cash for them so I'm relatively unaffected by all of this.
