Anyone have a guesstimate at what odds Bravazo will go at in the Preakness? And will he have the same jockey? Think that's the right rider for him. Plus I'm a canuck so glad to see a canuck champ on a horse I like.

I see the Preakness isn't the best for pay outs. Do they have $0.50 supers or a min dollar like the derby?

For sure not playing it too hard against Justify unless he looks much below top condition.

I believe they have dime supers and 50 cent trifectas. Preakness might be chalk this year but the undercard is usually fun.

May not be anything to worry about, but it’s still something to think about.

I wonder what the status is of Pat Day Mile winner Funny Duck.

He has a great classic pedigree. His sire, Distorted Humor, has sired two classic winners in Funny Cide (Derby and Preakness) and Drosselmeyer (who added the BC Classic to his Belmont win). He has also gotten classic-caliber colts in Flower Alley (Travers), Regal Ransom, and Any Given Saturday (Haskell).

Funny Duck's broodmare sire is the great Seattle Slew. His second dam is Corrazona, best known for upsetting turf champion Flawlessly in the 10 furlong Beverly Hills at Hollywood Park (when it was an important race). More importantly, she made the successful transition from turf to dirt when winning the listed Run For The Roses at Santa Anita. In the shed, she has produced Olmodavor, a long-winded AP Indy colt that placed behind such stalwarts as Mineshaft and Medaglia D'Oro.

Owner Brad Kelley of Calumet Farm is the one who suggested trying the colt on dirt again in the Pat Day Mile and seems pretty gung-ho about being in the big dances. He already has Bravazo in the Preakness with Lukas but I doubt he'd mind giving himself a second shot in the race.

I hope Sporting Chance doesn't knock another horse into the grandstands or maybe he just hates Free Drop Billy

Could that have been a more roughly run race with just 5 horses?

Flying Paster broke a bit outwards from the rail and basically lugged out the whole way round, bothering Spectacular Bid early and bumping and carrying out General Assembly into the first turn.

Down the backstretch Screen King appeared to herd The Bid to the outside, then Bid cleared him and came over on him, causing Screen King to steady.

Not to be outdone, Screen King, together with a lugging out Paster, clobbered an already retreating General Assembly on the far turn, forcing him to check.

For good measure, Screen King drifted in in the stretch, smashing Flying Paster towards Golden Act who was rallying on the inside, causing Paster to take up rather sharply.

Meanwhile, Spectacular Bid drew off to win by open lengths.

couple things jump out at me watching that

General Assembly and Flying Paster were no slouches

Lets get into a speed dual while Spectacular Bid sits a garden trip, thats outta work!

Why was the Bid put in a drive at the 5/8ths, could have had those horses at any time.

And the Belmont man, it can beat any great horse.

The top line is the real reason for the bottom line. Franklin sent The Bid full out after only a half mile in the Belmont.

It's almost as if he didn't know where the finish line was so he presumed every pole might be the winning post and thus had to send Bid hard just in case.

The return on a $1 Hi5 wager was $1219 in 2014. There was no Hi5 in 2008 however the $1 superfecta paid $1192.

Super High 5 in 2014 for $1 was 1,219.10. Don't think 2008 had a Super High 5 bet.

If the field size is only 7 this year, gotta imagine it wont even pay 500. Whats the minimum field size for it? Would they even have it in a 7 horse field?
