BRIS Ultimate Race Summary

I truly believe that by just using BRIS' Ultimate Race Summary sheets, one could out handicap most racing fans. The trick, like with any other racing data, is in knowing how to play with the data. Recently, I rediscovered BRIS ACL (Average Competitive Level). ACL is wonderful and probably not used by most Ultimate handicappers. Why? Because it is a bit esoteric. Let's start a discussion on what's of value for a quick cap in the Summary sheets. Here are a couple of links:

More later. Please let us know what you like about the Summary sheets.

Thanks

Have never really considered the ACL stat.

When it comes to the summary, I use it as a quick glance for pace setups. I will also look at the last race columns for Speed rating and Early Speed. Might do a quick look over the last few Race Ratings.

Sometimes when just farting around , not wanting to handicap, I just use the Twinspires TV race summary and have had some success, but of course that doesn't show ACL.

This is very interesting. thanx for the link.

I wonder if this is what Bob Pandolpho is getting to in his new system?

There are a lot of programs out there using ACL and don't even know it's on the BRIS summary. What a lot of handicappers do is for in the money finishes average the par times or average the earnings for the last 5 races.

Using ACL before Speed is the trick, answering the first question about class which are the horses that can run with these field today.

I didn't use ACL in the book, but I like the rating. I also like the race ratings, which I've used as an aid to hit a lot of longshot winners.

I should be getting my copy tomorrow. Fast service. I need something right now to get my mind off betting. I'm starting to just throw the money in.

I was listening to Jason today and he made a good point. The first four or five races were not won by the track favorite.

I think there are a lot of players who simply use the numbers on the program and bet accordingly.

But if you do that I don't think you will have an edge. Your edge is betting against the program.

Must be me but I still believe a punter is better off developing their own program and betting it as opposed to using someone else's.

Nice 13-1 winner in the 8th at Belmont today, top current class horse, and the one tied with him filled out a $65 exacta.

The class rating have done well with foreign shippers in the BC races before, too.

How did BRIS do today on the 4 races?

Current Class.........Win - 1-x-x-5 Place x-x-4-3
Avg Class last 3.....Win - 2-1-x-x Place x-5-1-3
Prime Power..........Win - x-1-3-1 Place 3-4-1-5 (first winner had no PP)

Last race, Early Late (Winner, place horse)

x-x, 1-x
3-3, x-1
5-1, 2-x
2-x, x-1

Top 3 early and late filling exacta slots, PP top 3 in all 4 exactas, AC better than CC.

Not bad, actually for one day.

Tomorrow?

Just discovered this thread.I use the whole page.I've found that different tracks each have different favorable factores. The top PP if 2-3 pts higher is always tough.

Yesterday Race #5 Aqu Toy Cannon was +6 on PP and paid $9.90 I guess you can still get some pretty good prices on top PP
