Trevor retiring

He may have slipped lately, but he was a fabulous announcer for a long time.

Apperently there is no farewell meet either, he won't call the upcoming winter meet that begins December 26th. I first saw this from Teresa Genaro, a very reliable source.

I thought about modifying the title to include Denman, but it isn't necessary. That is how good he was.

Speak the truth, CJ.

I think that many of us do not realize just how difficult that job really is.

One of his epic calls as the horse was romping through the stretch with a double-digit lead: "If you put your money on number nine, take your ticket and stand on line."

But now it has come out he will still call summer Del Mar meet. So he is retired, but he isn't retired.

You would have to sprout wings to keep up with him.

He was the greatest of all time Imo. The first time I heard him i was amazed. I spent 3 1/2 years in Cali as a young man and never heard an announcer so detail oriented.. After listening to Dick Wolley who had his own style but nothing compared to Trevor , I realized California was the top of the chain during the late 80s.

You won't get an argument from he.

I actually watched the first horse race I ever saw from Dick Wooley's booth at Bowie.

I'd love Wrona for SA.

I like Frank Mirahmadi, but he has a gig at OP and Mth, so he's probably not available other than as a fill-in.

Does Santa Anita run about the same as those two put together? I'm thinking so.

I believe Mirahmadi would give up both gigs if offered the SA job...
