Sunday Aqueduct 11-2
My Aqueduct picks for Sunday:
R1 - #7 Cape Pogue-Makes a double drop, from statebred NW2 to 3yo claimers. His only race in a one turn mile on this surface was a good one. Chavez will probably lay off the pace with this one today.
R2 - #8 Cool Hal-Probably wasn’t presevered with after a troubled start last time. Finished evenly while splitting the field. Trainer is OK with 2nd time out horses, expect better today.
R3 - #7 Jumangi-Makes second start for better barn. Don’t see much competition for the early lead. Expecting improvement today.
R4 - #8 Spencer’s Storm-Makes the important drop into mcl for the first time. Trainer has good stats in important categories (route/sprint, turf/dirt) and his last race produced a few next out winners.
R5 - #4 Back Bay Lady-Made a wide move last time in a race with some next out winnners.
R6 - #8 Twining and Dining-Has shown consistent improvement since Klesaris claimed her, including a 3rd place finish in a graded stake at PIM. Gets Prado today.
R7 - #1 Don Six-Promising 3yo who ran well in two graded stakes at this track/distance earlier in the year and ran well. Comes back from a brief freshening and should show the way from the rail.
R8 - #1 Read the Footnotes-Ran a bad one last time, his first on lasix. With those fractions he should have had a clear lead. I’ll give him another shot to rebound here, and he’s been drilling well in the meantime.
R9 - #8 Bidding Pro-Wow, really took to the turf at 150/1 last time. Made up much ground in the 3rd quarter of her last race. Should still be a price here, though nowhere near triple digits.
