A friend of mine from Boston playing at Suffolk always played 'double nickels' for the double! (before rolling came around)
I think he was born in '55

Last year, for the Del Mar Handicap on 8/21/21, I had a dime super for $3,577. Actually, I had it for 20c. The first dime I wanted while the 2nd dime super was in error(a great error!). There are still some high paying dime supers out there; you just have to keep the favorite out of the top 2 or 3 slots.

Some people just have superstitious reasons for liking certain numbers. I used to hang with an older gent who played a lot of 1/6 exacta boxes at the runners and 1/2 exacta boxes at the trotters. I got the 1/2 on a 1/2 mile oval, but the 1/6 was always a head scratcher.

One day I saw a woman near me hit a huge exacta. I don't recall exactly how much, but thousands. When asked, she said she bet the two grays.

Drosselmeyer in the 2010 Belmont still remains my biggest % return score. I had keyed him on top with First Dude in the second and third spots. Cashed win bets, tris, supers like crazy. I put something like $200 into the race and cashed for just shy of $5 grand.
And of course I dismissed him in the 2011 Classic!!
My biggest near miss and DOH moment was dismissing Royal Delta in the 2011 Ladies Classic. I was alive in the pick 4 after two of three legs with 20-1 shots with will pays ranging from 14k to 90k for a buck(ticket was around $200 if I remember). Yeah, Royal Delta romped....

Drosselmeyer
Tbwinner, nice hit. I also had him in the same race. I posted above about my best 10c super, but this was my biggest overall superfecta win like you.
I had Drosselmeyer for win and place and a $1 exacta with him on top of Fly Down, Game on Dude and First Dude, a $1 trifecta with him on top of those 3 and on top of the huge $1 super which paid about $10,600 for $2. I got back over $5,800 on that 1 race.
PS- I did not dismiss this great horse in the 2011 classic. Ah, the good times.

It seems like back then even just 12 years ago, winners were easier to come by!
I remember "reinvesting" some of my winnings into the pick 6 carryover that following racecard Wednesday after the Belmont. I recall hitting 5 of 6 for a few conso payoffs of $884...chart says the 6 of 6 paid $550,000 ... NOW that is a score!!!
