Early Voting to pass Derby
Just read earlier that Early Voting is passing on the Derby and waiting for the Preakness. There goes some early pace to the race.

Makes my betting choices a bit easier as well. He was in my Top 3.

I'd rather him be in the race because I didn't like him and he would have made it easier for me to downgrade a few others on the likely pace setup.

Trainer knows best?
I think Early Voting was his best derby runner in his stable...

Chad Brown is doing an incredible job with this horse. Not only did he make the right move by not rushing the horse into what was likely to be a fast paced Derby (ultimately ridiculously fast), he has this horse moving forward rapidly every race and had him ready to relax behind a horse for the Preakness. IMO, this horse did not look like he was going to be easy to rate early in his career. Now he’s a horse that’s likely to get a lot of good trips on top on that speed and ability.
Where does Jack Christopher fit?
Do they eventually meet?

Horse was completely spent after the race, and he was fully fit and ready to run his very best.
Zandon is Brown's true Travers horse.
Would not be surprised if we never see Early Voting run again.
Doubt anybody remembers that Cloud Computing actually ran 4 times after his Preakness win. 5th, 8th, 4th, 7th.
I'd point him towards a campaign of the BC Dirt Mile with another race or two this year if he remains healthy. That was a massive peak effort. Pure bet against for me from here on out if and when he runs again.

He ran like a drunken sailor down the stretch, and Epicenter, IMHO is well past his peak. Not showing speed against a 24 opening quarter goes beyond strategy.

I thought Epicenter got off a little slow and then there was some “race riding?”at the start that put Rosario in a very difficult position. I thought he ran fine given the circumstances. He had a lot to do to try to catch another quality horse with good head start on a track that at the least was kind to speed. He’s a very good horse. He’s just not so much better that he can spot some of the others anything and still beat them.

And I'm still waiting for Messier and Zozos, two fast 3yo's, both last raced in the Derby. Will they ever race again?

No works for Zozos, but Messier is working pretty steadily at Santa Anita.

Smile Happy also has not raced since the Derby, or worked for that matter.

I noticed that. Messier is a fast horse. Zozos is also fast and looked like a potential GR1 sprinter to me.

That turned out to be a great call on Early Voting.
