What’s the big deal?
Can’t Californians still buy home insurance from other companies?

I believe the article details the issues dealing with insuring California homes and businesses
As an aside, I've heard nothing but bad things about state farm. But the less competition California has , the more costly things will get going forward

Insurance companies as a whole are pretty bad, IMO. I have had bad experiences with State Farm, Allstate, and American Family. They are the best while you pay your premiums...but the problems start when you file a claim.

Yes, but the largest provider in the country just pulled out.
Prices will go up…….way up.
* I did t see Elkabongs reply above but he’s right.
Btw, business insurance is in huge turmoil. Costs have skyrocketed.
I’m negotiating mine right now for our coming June 30-June 30 24 policies.
5 yrs ago I paid about 32k for the year. Thus year ending in the next month or so 51k.
I banded together with a group of our franchisees and we got a group rate for 130 restaurants together. Half way thru the year we got about 8k back by forming a group.
This year I think we are going to be back near 51k because 2 large providers are closing the Texas market because they are afraid we are due new hurricanes and freeze problems due to the shitty power grid. They will tell you that straight out.
So our previous discount is expected to go away

Just an observation.....
JR must lie awake at night thinking about what will f*ck up next in California.
All I can figure is that he really misses it.

I don't know about Ralph, but I go to bed laughing at what California has become. Self inflicted wounds at the ballot box & all

Our premiums went up over 40% last month. No claims since 2018. Shopped around and couldn't beat that rate. Unreal

I keep hearing from a lawyer in our foursome and a buddy of his that the lege is taking aim at that industry next year. Lot of angry constituents

what's amazing is how democrats jump to the defence of their shitty policies not matter the harm they cause.
Celebrating the defective!

They never admit to their mistakes even when they are obvious. California makes it a PITA and very expensive to get rid of toxic waste, the landfill fees are high also. The end result in no other state have I seen more illegal dumping, true I have only been to half the states, maybe somewhere is worse, but I doubt it.

I’m hoping Gavin Newsome makes a run for the White House. It’ll be Comedy Central listening to him.

Bill Maher installed solar panels at his residence. He said it took 12 different local and state inspectors years to finally allow him to turn the system on.
