I don't understand why most people don't believe that verse, since it is perfectly consistent with the God-ordained mandate of capital punishment for murder which was instituted before the Law of Moses and the prescribed Mosaic restitution for harm -- an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth and a life for a life.
Judas is the quintessential example of such a tormented soul after he betrayed Jesus.

That’s a civil issue. You cannot criminally prosecute a dead man. I’m sure he left a plan with his family . That money is gone as we speak

Hmm...Now, I wondering if there was a family member around to assist with the suicide? Plenty of motive. And the opportunity was there. What's the third ingredient necessary?

He can’t be prosecuted obviously but the money can be clawed back.
I know a family who was left money made in the Madoff scam. It all went back.

It all depends how well it is hidden and how hard they want to keep it, among a few other things.

If the families collude to hide the funds they can be prosecuted as well.
A forensic accountant will find every nickel.

Except if the "families collude" with the Russians.

Possible, but real life is not TV. It is all about risk/reward.

Madoff didn't off himself. Died about 10 years later . I think JR is right here

Not the point I was making.
Madoff had clients who illegally made whirlwind profits who subsequently died. Their heirs had to repay all profits. Only allowed to keep the principal.

The phrase “clawed back” is a common term for using forensic accountants and legal resources to chase the money down, then have a judge order re-payment from whomever benefitted from it.
It is pretty common. But there are very easy ways to hide it, if you’re able to plan. If this guy had the time, they won’t get much back. But Dave is in no way wrong, it will be the tactics used. I just think this guy was connected and probably built a layered plan to hide assets.
