INC.com: The Great Resignation Is Turning Into the 'Great Regret.'

Interesting (and short) article.

It is all about the people who are still "choosing" to work, which is not what we actually need to hear.

The real issue is that lower income strata are the ones who have resigned. Simply put, they have chosen to be supported by the rest of us instead of doing work which they deem to be beneath them.

Still, the article has merit.

There's also a concept of "quiet quitting" going on out there: doing a job and nothing more.

Strange times ahead, for sure.

This is not in the article. The links in the 1st paragraph actually say the opposite.

Good article.

Here's another (quoted from that one).

‘The Great Resignation’: June’s US jobs report hides unusual trend

What's interesting about this one - as well as all the others - is that they always emphasize the ones who had real careers and decided to go into business for themselves, go back to school, etc.

These articles never seem to talk about the people who...
  • Went through school with ambivalence
  • Had no real prospects in life
  • Chose not to improve upon that status
  • Decided that allowing society to support them would be an improvement

Welfare was never meant to be a career path.

I can think of a whole bunch of reasons, but point taken.

You mean professional mooching isn't a bona fide job description?
