Praise The Lord - and give me $54 million

I love stuff like this.
Only in America!

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...jet/653202002/

Quote:
Jesse Duplantis, a televangelist with viewers across the globe, says God told him he needs a new jet.
Quote:
"Now, some people believe that preachers shouldn't have jets," Duplantis said in a video posted last week. "I really believe that preachers ought to ... have every available outlet to get this Gospel preached to the world."

In fact, Duplantis said that "if Jesus was physically on the Earth today, he wouldn't be riding a donkey."
Then you get his partner-in-crime defending him jonesing for a jet!
You can't make this chit up

He and Al Gore seem to have have something in common with the private jet thing. Maybe they're golfing buddies or some shit....Kickin back together and enjoy a few brews and broads after LSU Tennessee games, then laugh at their followers for their gullible bent....

Makes me thankful for two things. One, I never voted for a fraud like Al Gore, and Two, my pastor is a down to earth guy and small business owner that drives a truck and not a jet. Not all pastors are alike (this will come as a shock to non believers)

Why does his ministry need a 4th plane? The 3 that he owns now ain't good enough for "spreading the Gospel"?

Thankfully, the vast majority aren't like the "jet set".

Funny, a guy is trying to get a bunch of money from private people for private purposes and gets a rash for it.

But the people we supposedly elected to represent us and fix the country spend 100% of their time doing the exact same thing on a much more massive scale and crickets?

Hey, go for it dude...if you get it, more power to ya!

Praise the lord and pass the money box.

Speaking of box, you could adapt his fundraising technique to rejuvenate the religious thread.

Charity

There is much Christian charity throughout the world.
$54 million would go a long way to help those in need.

Guys like this should be closely investigated.
They avoid tax - legally, for the most part.
That is a failing of our system.

Churches, and their ministers, should not be exempt from paying tax.

Mark this day down on your calendar.
We agree on something - Churches should pay taxes.

The Vatican is embarrassingly wealthy for a Church.
Big balls to ask parishioners to shell out 2-3 collections every week when you are sitting on one of the world's largest fortunes.

I agree that $54 million would be better off going directly to the needy, just as a giant share of the funds raised for political parties would also do. Why filter it through broken campaign promises and dilute it down to nothing?

An exceedingly rare day, for I, too, agree that no religious institution, including Christ's Church, should be exempt from taxes. The Church should follow Jesus' mandate -- to render unto Caesar (the state) what is his and unto God what is God's.
