how come it seems like we are going from bad to worse with our Secretary of States. Tillerson looks like he is way above his head in this job. he should have stuck to Exxon where its a lot easier to hustle hedge funds and bankers.
The Chinese are effectively wishing to monopolize a key trade route through expansion of their territorial waters. It's a violation of the United Nations Sea Laws and simply the US enforcing it's freedom of navigation policy.
Occasionally the Chinese get a bit froggy and occasionally we sail a warship up to their doorstep reminding them who runs the pond.
To compare TRex to Crooked Hilary is a real stretch until he causes civil war in
numerous countries, I'm willing to cut him some slack. And as chad66 states
this is a Military decision probably not in TRex's wheelhouse.
To support ELYSIAN's comment, this is a commenter from that article:
Bill Lynch · Ohio Wesleyan University In the last several articles on this topic by this author, she fails to mention the July 12, 2016 ruling by the international arbitration panel found much more than china violating fishing rights. It cited repeated provocations by the chinese navy and coast guard, and actions by the chinese government to continue to develop these illegal islands while arbitration was taking Place. The real provocation in the S. China Sea is the development of these illegal islands and attempt at a unilateral theft of international waters by china. All actions following that are reactions, which china has no basis to criticize. The US needs to restrict trade with china until they see the wisdom in adhearing to international laws.
