I am taking also some exacta shots with , w , ,
Also a place shot at Sovereign Debt. might regret for not adding him to exacta.
I am going against the 4 Declaration of War... overhyped excuse horse in my opinion!

Good luck AK, Good luck all horses to finish well and safe.
Arghh. What happened to dear AK... Declaration of War was not a shot at 6-1 but I should have taken a shot at 11-1 (wait.. or was it 8-1?).. serves me right.. hope the place payouts are decent for 1 and 6...

Just a shame that US residents aren't able to bet with them!
The bookmakers know hype= overbet. They don't give money away.

Never settled but even then, it was an uncharacteristically poor effort.

Horse was miserably rank, it showed, clearly, just strides out of the gate. Never settled. So badly beaten. I'd rather have stopped at Dubai, I believe.

Be well, AK, enjoy your retirement.

Post race analysis:
He wasn't happy with Johnny V, they should have stayed with Rosario.. AK must've remembered seeing JV on POE and Wise Dan and determined that he was a rival. Horses are intelligent animals!

Yeah I got some PL money on 6 gregorian and 1 Aljahmeer. Plowing it all back into a Dawn Approach/Magician straight exacta in the 3rd

Looked like he didn't know what to make of the track, and the lack of early pace didn't help. Shades of Dawn Approach in the Derby. Still, he should have shown better than finishing way down the field like that. Hopefully he's not hurt again.

That had to be the reason.

Stuff happens....

AK just didn't have his mind on running today - for whatever reason.

I agree, never change a winning combination. Horses are not stupid, they know who is on their back.
This is payback for taking Rosario off the horse.

Sorry, but that is absolutely silly. How would Rosario done any better? The horse wasn't having it today. Btw, the worst ride AK ever got was by Rosario at Gulfstream.

Hindsight...

Glad they ran him again, give Team Valor credit for at least that. AK a true champion, it has been a pleasure watching him. Who is the last Derby winner to run at 5?
