This is not so complicated if the media would just stop lying and everyone else would stop being so gullible. This is a VERY easy to end war, but not when the ultimate real goal is to get rid of Putin.
The short version is that Putin is a very bad guy, but the west is FOS and provoked all this by first meddling in Ukrainian politics and second by being unwilling to accept the reasonable position that one of our political opponents finds enemy weapons and troops on his border to be unacceptable. In the end, everyone is going to be loser economically, MANY lives will be lost, there will be needless destruction, and Russia is going to be driven into the arms of China. That’s the best case.

I find it completely funny though how you manage to go DEAD SILENT (with the 1-post excuse of course...life...job...whatever it was that was keeping you away) when the Ukrainian successes stopped flowing so freely a month or two into this war. You were nowhere to be found for quite a while.
Then when they started having some success again, here you are strutting around telling the world how right you were...again.

Anyway...
Russia's war of imperialism... er... I mean buffer states is hitting some roadblocks.
Dagestan in particular is not too appreciative of being heavily relied on as cannon fodder.
Rumors are Kadyrov and his Chechens have been tasked with putting it down... so... that's nice.
They have their own problems right now as well though;
Meanwhile Russia has detached some interior forces to Georgian border to prevent this;
Overall this,
 war against NATO aggression
 war for the buffer state
 war to unite Russian speaking people
Seems to be going according to plan.

ely doesn't quite get it that the war itself isn't the most important part of what is going on over there.

Some more updates...
Referendums;
Ukrainians actually want to join Russia... badly.
Fighting;
Reports are the Ukrainian Army is active in Kreminna if so that's curtains for the Russian forces in Lyman.
Russia is having some success with Iranian Suicide drones. They're easy to bring down but insanely cheap to build apparently which creates material disparity. Nobody wants to waste S300 tubes on drones that cost a couple thousand bucks. I'd suspect the next batch of aid will include some EW kit.
Gas;
Nord Stream 1 and 2 have both been damaged with severe leaks. This looks like it was intentional (Russia did this). The pipelines have been off anyway but it's a new development of the conflict growing into new areas.
