Well, at least we now know we have nothing to fear from Russia.

They can't even take Ukraine.

Therefore, there's no way in hell they will attack a NATO country...

Nobody is using intercontinental ballistic missiles unless they want the world to effectively end.

So really, if that happens, it's over anyway...

Who here really believes that they are going to pour billions into old technology? They are pouring big moneys into technology that supersedes and is becoming very effective in not letting them fly. NK is being watched like no other, any advancement into the pacific and maybe its example time. So the other players really do not want to go there.

Biden is and has always been a new world order guy, the Ukraine thing I have not picked sides. I just am more interested in seeing the puppet masters burn, what shakes out after that is just the effects of what is after the implosion.

Ukrainian forces have successfully expelled Russian forces from the areas around Kharkiv.

Some will say, like Kyiv, Russia never planned to take Kharkiv and this was just another ruse...

With the way Ukraine has manhandled Russia since February, why do you think it took them this long to finally start marching over their Russian overlords?

I mean, they've been fighting Russians for a LONG time...seems to me, they should have been able to quickly vanquish their Russian foes LONG ago, given how well they've been doing against this recent, FULL COURT PRESS DISPLAY OF FORCE from Putin.

Odd.

Odd.
A properly westernized and motivated fighting force fighting a defensive force on force conflict.

Coupled with the fact Ukraine has a near infinite supply of arms and material.

Or as someone else in different location put it;

Quote:
It's becoming increasingly obvious that Russia is a country that has been attempting to maintain a military the size of the USA's with a defence budget the size of Britain's in an economy smaller than Canada's and with a level of institutional corruption massively in excess of any of them.

Still, you need people to fight. Doesn't really matter how many weapons you throw at them if they don't have the numbers or quality of fighters.

You would think a fighting force as fierce as they have been could have done a little more when it came to Crimea or Donbas region, no?

And why haven't the Russians done more to curb this constant flow of equipment into Ukraine? How is it getting in? Is it coming from land? Sea? Air?

Russia is powerless to stop the inflow?

Russia armed forces are comprised mainly of conscripts. They sign on for a year before being demobilized. Not a lot of training goes in to them. I wouldn't rate a conscript soldier much higher, if any, than myself in a combat situation.

The professional soldiers are on average close to on par with their western equivalents but have been pretty heavily chewed up.

Russia also doesn't have a robust NCO system like the US military for example which hinders leadership and operational eeffectiveness.

Not really. The Ukrainian military in 2014 compared to now is apples and oranges. Back then they were just a weaker and probably more corrupt version of their neighbor.

Their combat ineffectiveness back then is why you have even heard of a group like Azov.

Comparing their combat ability between now and 8 years ago is pointless.

Yes.

How, exactly? This is a pretty interesting question, considering we don't have a no-fly zone in place.

So how is all this equipment and weaponry finding its way into the country?

Because they haven't been able to achieve air supremacy.

I would assume by planes, trains, and automobiles.

Come on man...don't you find this all just a little bit ridiculous?

These guys are supposed to be one of the greatest militaries in the world...

How is it only now that we're learning just how impotent they truly are? Like I asked a few months ago...was our intel that bad? Or was our propaganda that good (propping up a "necessary" enemy)?
