Road To The Derby 2017 Points Races

Anyone know when the points races start? Usually around this time but as of now KentuckyDerby.com still shows last years schedule.

You would think it would be the same races? Have they mixed them up the past few years? I dont really start paying attention till the calendar changes but the races and structure have seemed the same

It is a little mind boggling that we have to assume when it is. Do you think the NFL, MLB, NBA, & NHL make people guess at the schedule when its a few weeks away?

Last year it started with the Iroquois at Churchill and then the Front Runner at Santa Anita, followed by the Breeders Futurity and Champagne All should be coming up in the next 2 to 4 weeks or so.

Does it really matter?

The points for these races aren't going to determine anything or really matter in the least when all is said and done.

BC Juvenile is the first real meaningful race IMO, and then it doesn't really crank up again till February/March of next year with regards to true Derby horses that can actually win the race.

It looks like Churchill announced the races earlier today. Nothing on the Derby website or FB page, but I saw a tweet from their media guy. One replacement race and a new thing featuring two races in Japan.
