Russia warned the U.S. on Thursday not to intervene militarily in Venezuela, saying such a move would trigger a catastrophe.
In an interview with Russian journal International Affairs published on Thursday, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Moscow would stand with Venezuela to protect its sovereignty and the principle of non-interference in its domestic affairs.
Asked about the prospect of U.S. military intervention in Venezuela, Ryabkov said Washington should steer well clear.
Ryabkov did not mention Maduro by name, but made clear Moscow backed his government.
"Venezuela is friendly to us and is our strategic partner," he said. "We have supported them and will support them."
Russia has also provided military support to Maduro, who has led the oil-rich nation since 2013.

The lead was because I knew that the Trumpsters here would make it all about Trump. It was aimed at them, not at The Donald. I assumed that Trump had nothing to do with what happened.
I was obviously correct. It's called sarcasm, something true believers of any faith can't grasp. The Dems here had no sense of humor about anything related to Obama, and now it is deja vu all over again about Trump.

Why do you have to make everything about Trump, and assume that anything other than praise for him can only mean hatred? I don't hate Trump, I just point out when he and his acolytes are wrong. I did the same thing when Obama was in office without hating him.

He needs it to be about Trump.
I don't care about our decision to recognize Guaido. Makes perfect sense to me and sets the stage for our influence to be felt. Merely stating our position and the fruits that come with American partnership should he enough to test the loyalties of some of the junta.
It's what I would do.

The dim/socialist party is all about saving the downtrodden of the world. The dim leaders need to travel there to see about annexing them for another territory and then one of 0bamas 57 states.

Foreign policy isn't a left/right thing.

Well, it just seems odd to question why someone mentions Trump when YOU started the thread using him as your focal point.
Maybe we should not pay attention to stuff you post?

No.
I'm flat out saying it's not.
Isolationism/Internationalism are not unique to the left or right.
Trump is a isolationist and Reagan was a internationalist... tell me Reagan was a leftist.

You are assuming that both are Republicans?

Ha!
More or less illustrating foreign policy isn't left/right.
Its judged on different metrics. The four I's spectrum.
Isolationist->Internationalist->Interventionist->Imperialist
