Either way, this post of mine is SURE to put the market over the edge in SOME direction...my posts always move the market...LOL

I don't think there are enough buyers for a bounce for a while, sentiment is taking a turn for the worse the last 10 days or so. But who really knows.

I just wanted to kick the market out of the 4100 - 4160 range...mission accomplished.

I love how the S&P acts like a 3rd world market and just goes up or down 100 points in the blink of an eye at will....

I am exaggerating just a bit...but the general point remains...

Doubtful this rally has long term legs.

Something about assuming the worst is over before any of the economic effects of the rate hikes have been felt. Housing, corporate earnings, labor market and consumer spending all totally unaffected at this point and people are running around today like it's market rocket launch time. Good luck with that.

Today's rally ended at almost an exact 50% retracement of the leg down that started on April 21.

Just sayin'

Do you think it would be over that fast? I was sort of expecting a few weeks of "some" upward movement. If any inflation number comes in lower than the month before the market is going to run higher for a minute. Not that it solves anything we will still have stupid high inflation but the market and talking heads will be like "see it's over"

When's the last time we had upward movement that lasted more than a few days? Mid-March we had a two week rally.

That's been it this year as far as I see.

This is a little relief valve rally because they didn't hike .75...nothing else can save this thing at the moment unless the war in Ukraine unexpectedly ends...

I agree that the more long term trend is down, just feels like a one or two week bear market rally is due.

i couldn't find when i posted about one of these congressmen going into RIG, its up from a bottom of 3.66 about a week ago up to 3.29 close today.. i didn't trade it but if i had it i would sell it. anything to do with oil is pretty tricky...

i have a friend that is pretty good at oil, he called for $100 oil when it was $72, now he is calling for $150. i see it going down to $80 still. i don't see it falling right now though with driving season heading into full bloom now.

And just like that, yesterday's rally is GONE

That 50% retracement I talked about yesterday held like a brick wall.
