Straight definition = story

Wordplay:

norm = par
bee = b
beer = ale

par+a+(b)+le = parable

Straight def here is pursued

article = an
ceiling beam = rafter

the clue tells us the "Article" will be "caught in" the ceiling beam

r + an + after = ran after

Toetoe took a stab, and I am not doing well with this one either....anyone else any ideas?

I am thinking the straight def is "opening for viewing"

the word "complete" makes me think of "whole"..and the audience part tells us it may be a "sound alike"

so, some type of hole perhaps (be nice, its 8 letters not 7 )

porthole?

Exactly.

The word "audience" tells you that anyone listening hears "not complete."
