I was there, but missed - can't see that spot from the grandstand.
With Boston friends in town.
I took a couple pics walking out.
[
Went to Le Tub in Hollywood for dinner on the intercoastal.
Then we walked across the street and went to Nicks on hollywood beach boardwalk.
He caught Paco sitting..if I was betting , I'd think Paco would demolish ortiz. Who knows though, Ortiz snapped off some throws... Small guys but they have hands like boxer's and can pop.

Suff, are you in Nebraska? Those pictures look a awful lot like the place I went last night.
Nevermind, that was a dream, carry on!

Ah Nick's. My Dad's and by extension my favorite place when my parents had a place down there.

If it was anything more than a love tap, he would have gone down.

Meanwhile Irad continues to foul with no punishment from stewards, or even objections from other jockeys.
Not sure how much a jockey punch could possibly hurt but I guess it scared these guys.

I guess $1,000 & 0 Days wasn't much of a deterrent...

I'd pay good money to see these two fight 3 rounds...
Don't like either one of them, every punch landed a delight.

And married jocks can't ride in a common race, right?

They can, but in New York at least they have to be coupled as an entry.

I don't know/care Irad's earnings. Usually listed (pretty sure by purse) 20-30M/yr.... So if the actual deal for him happens to be 10% (don't know/care), that's ~1-3M/yr ....
... Say he earns 1M ... $1,000 fine = 1/1000 of his yearly salary.
equal to a guy getting paid $100K/YR getting fined $100.
if we knew we could slug someone in our office who was really happening to piss us off! - for $100 (or even the full $1,000...)( and with relative impunity other than that small fine), - that would be a comical and unruly Monday morning!
