Ah, that explains it JimmyQ. I am looking forward to meeting you at Arlington in June along with the rest of the guys (and maybe gals?).

Wilke & Euclid near Route 53...in case you forgot

A friend of mine for many years is coming in to Baltimore this weekend. He lives within one hour from AP.

He will offer to put me up, so I will probably be attending, as long as the air fair and rental car costs are not outrageous.

Looking forward to attending and meeting those members I have yet to meet.

Even you - Mostpost

You're coming to beat me up, aren't you.
On expedia dot com I'm seeing prices right around $300.00 round trip in that time frame. That includes taxes and fees. That is Baltimore to Chicago Ohare.

I don't know what rental cars cost. The Metra train stops right on the track grounds. If I knew the town your friend lives in I could tell you if that would be a viable option.

My post above said that I will be there all three days. That may have changed.
I will definitely be there on Friday. I will likely not be there on Saturday. 50/50
I would be there on Sunday. I didn't realize until recently that this get together conflicts with an out of town event that I look forward to each year.
An event that is about 140 miles south of Chicago.

Still trying to decide what to do.

I'm too old to beat up anyone. Besides, you do a pretty good job all by yourself.

I will find out what town he is in and get back to you.

It'd be great if you could make it (and your friend).

Shaping up to be a lot of fun with people from around town here and a number of out-of-towners!

My friend Mark lives in Geneva. Unfortunately, he and the family are going to Jamaica for the time frame of the AP trip. His house is not available.

I will probably not attend. I would rather go to Saratoga. If you guys make this a yearly trip, next year I am in for sure.

Sorry to hear that you will likely not be attending. I was looking forward to meeting you because we have such political disagreements. My theory is that because we only know each other through our political discourse whatever we say upsets us all the more. Also it is hard to know when something is said in jest without being able to see the person.

I have a friend who is just as weird-I mean politically conservative as anyone on this board. We have these debates frequently, but maintain a friendship because we know many good things about each other. We never let our disagreements go too far. I'm sure it was merely an oversight when he put the cover on his hot tub while I was still in it.

Perhaps I will make it to Saratoga this year.

Arlington park

Can.t make it- my son and his daughter will be in the Baltimore-DC area for a conference during that time frame. Hope to see those of you who can make Saratoga do so.

Trust me, you will not regret it. I finally did it last year, albeit one day, but the members I met were worth the trip. Not to mention the track itself!

If you do, I will buy you a bowl of red chowder.
And treat you to a drink from the "fountain!"

I'm afraid to ask what the fountain is. Would most people be there for the final weekend-16th to 19th? I will make my final decision no later than the end of May. Leaning yes right now.

I'll be there that weekend...what more of an incentive would you need?

And by the way, I can't remember once in the last nine outings there ever being any sort of political discussion...so don't worry about that petty stuff...
